This game's amiibo functionality was added in the free "Welcome amiibo" update on the 2nd of November 2016.

amiibo Features

Read-only feature:

Invite an amiibo-exclusive Legend of Zelda-themed villager to visit your RV campsite, give you an item, and/or move to your town

There are four Legend of Zelda-themed villagers that can be summoned depending on the particular amiibo used:
- Epona: Link - Majora's Mask, Link - Ocarina of Time, Link - Rider, Sheik
- Ganon: Bokoblin, Ganondorf, Guardian, Link - The Legend of Zelda (8-bit)
- Medli: Toon Link, Zelda (all not otherwise listed)
- Wolf Link: Link (all not otherwise listed), Zelda (Super Smash Bros. series)

Invite amiibo-exclusive villager Cece to visit your RV campsite, give you an item, and/or move to your town

Invite amiibo-exclusive villager Viché to visit your RV campsite, give you an item, and/or move to your town

Wisp can't be invited to move in as a villager.

These SP cards won't bring the character's RV to your campsite. These special characters can't be invited to move in as a villager.
